           Tealeaves contain more than three hundred chemical ingredients, 40% of which can be dissolved by water. When we drink tea, we actually take in the water extracts of tealeaves. It is health-protective in many ways. For one thing, it can sterilize and detoxify water, oral cavity and intestines and make water hygiene enough for drinking. For another, it contains many nutrients and medicative ingredients. It can have physiological and medical effect on human body, hence help to improve health condition. For instance, the ingredients such as various vitamins, trace elements, amino acid, and the like, can add in nutrition, facilitate metabolism, delay senescence, and so on. The theine can agitate nerve center, and the diphenols (mainly catechin) can reduce blood lipid and increase flexibility of blood vessel walls. Fluorin and prevent and cure decayed tooth, selenium can prevent cancer, and amylose ester can repel radiation. All these have been proved by modern science.
